Screener

What it does

The Screener is two tools in one:

  1. A fast filter to narrow the universe to a shortlist.
  2. A set of deep-dive report generators that produce institution-style equity research on a single ticker — covering valuation, fundamentals, and strategic context.

Reports are saved to your History so you don’t have to regenerate them.

When to use it

  • You have a thesis (“undervalued mid-caps with low debt”) and want to see which names match.
  • You’re considering one specific stock and want a structured second opinion before buying.
  • You want a DCF valuation without spreadsheet work.
  • You’re benchmarking a holding’s qualitative position (moat, competitive intensity) — the kind of thing the Bain analysis covers.

How to use it

Tabs

The page has five tabs, accessible from the top of the page:

TabWhat it does
Market screenerApply filters (market cap, P/E, sector, returns, etc.) to find stocks that match.
GS equity researchGenerate a Goldman Sachs-style multi-section research report on one ticker.
MS DCF valuationRun a Morgan Stanley-style discounted cash flow valuation.
Bain analysisStrategic competitive analysis (industry structure, moat, growth levers).
HistoryEvery report you’ve generated, ready to re-open.

Run a basic screen

  1. Open the Market screener tab.
  2. Set filters in the form (sector, size, valuation bands, growth, etc.).
  3. Click Run screen.
  4. Browse the results table. Click a row to jump to that stock’s evaluation or fundamentals.

Generate a research report

  1. Pick the report type tab (GS, MS DCF, or Bain).
  2. Enter the ticker and any required inputs in the form.
  3. Click Generate.
  4. The report runs in the background — you can leave the page. When it finishes, it shows up in History with the timestamp.
  5. Open the report to read each section: thesis, valuation, key risks, supporting data, and so on.

Re-open a saved report

  1. Open the History tab.
  2. Filter by report type if needed.
  3. Click any row to read the full report again — it’s saved per user.

Tips & gotchas

  • Report generation is not instant. Expect a wait, especially for DCF. You can navigate away and come back; it’ll be in History when ready.
  • The filter set is intentionally short. It’s tuned to the questions most people actually ask, not every column on a screener — start there before reaching for niche metrics.
  • Reports are point-in-time. Re-run them periodically; markets and fundamentals move.
  • History is per user. Your reports aren’t shared with other accounts.
  • A failed report is just a failed report. It usually means the model couldn’t fetch enough data for that ticker. Try again or pick a different report type.
