AI chat assistant
What it does
Chat is an AI assistant inside the dashboard. Ask it questions in natural language — about markets, individual stocks, fundamentals, or your own portfolio — and get back a response in seconds. Conversations are saved as sessions so you can pick up where you left off.
When to use it
- You want a quick answer without navigating to a specific page.
- You want to compare two stocks side-by-side in plain language.
- You want to summarise a complex page (e.g., a research report) in a sentence.
- You want suggestions on what to look at next.
How to use it
- Open Chat from the sidebar.
- The left panel shows your previous chat sessions, grouped by recency.
- Click New chat to start fresh, or click an existing session to continue it.
- Pick a model from the dropdown above the conversation if you want to switch.
- Type your message. Press Enter to send, or Shift + Enter to add a newline.
- Suggested prompts appear when you start a new session — feel free to click one to skip the blank-page problem.
- Long-running responses stream in; you can scroll while the model is still typing.
Manage sessions
- Rename a session by clicking its title.
- Delete a session from the menu on its row in the sidebar — once deleted, the messages are gone.
Tips & gotchas
- Be specific. “How is HDFC Bank doing this quarter compared to ICICI?” beats “tell me about banks.”
- It can be wrong. Treat it as a starting point — verify any number that matters by clicking through to Fundamentals or Stock evaluation.
- Different models, different strengths. If a response feels off, try a different one from the picker.
- Sessions are private to your account.
- For deep analysis, prefer Stock evaluation or a Screener report — those follow a structured workflow.
Related
- Stock evaluation — structured deep-dive when chat isn’t enough.
- Screener — institutional-style research reports.
